Value
No hidden fees, no middlemen. We work ethically and directly with local communities to offer fair prices and real impact.
Flexible

What you'll experience
Volcanic landscapes, ancient rivers, and wildlife at your doorstep.
From the smoking rim of the Fantale Crater to the thunder of the Awash Falls, the park invites you to immerse yourself in landscapes that shift from savannah to acacia forest, from hot springs to river canyons. It’s a place where antelopes dash across golden plains, baboons guard their rocky perches, and over 450 bird species fill the skies with color and song.
Awash is more than a park—it’s a place of contrasts and convergence: volcanic fire and cool river mist, ancient traditions and untamed nature, quiet mornings and wild encounters. Perfect for nature lovers, photographers, and adventurers seeking a compact yet rich escape from the capital.
Optional Add-On
Extend your stay with a hike to the rim of Mount Fantale for panoramic views, or spend a night camping under the stars for a deeper immersion into the African wilderness.
Program
Depart Addis Ababa early in the morning and head east into the Rift Valley. As the highlands give way to open plains, you’ll arrive at Awash National Park by midday. After settling into your lodge, enjoy a gentle afternoon walk focused on birdwatching—flamingos, pelicans, hornbills, and raptors await in this ornithologist’s paradise.
Begin the day with a game drive or guided walk through the park’s diverse ecosystems. Look out for East African oryx, Soemmerring’s gazelle, dik-dik, warthogs, and both greater and lesser kudu. Hamadryas and Anubis baboons may cross your path, adding to the park’s unique wildlife mosaic.
Visit the Awash River and, if time permits, take in the dramatic Fantale Crater or the nearby hot springs. By early afternoon, begin your return to Addis Ababa, bringing with you the sounds, colors, and energy of the Rift Valley.
