Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by our staff and transferred to your hotel. Explore Addis Ababa’s lively blend of history and modernity: jacaranda-lined streets, engaging museums, and Africa’s largest open-air market, the Merkato.
Fly to Bahir Dar and cruise Lake Tana, discovering ancient monasteries like Ura Kidane Mehret, rich in art and history. In the afternoon, visit the awe-inspiring Blue Nile Falls (Tissisat), where mist and rainbows mingle in the lush landscape.
Drive to Gondar and step into history. Explore the Royal Enclosure, Fasiladas’ castles, and Debre Berhan Selassie Church, famed for its winged angel frescoes.
Visit Simien Mountains National Park for panoramic views and wildlife encounters with Gelada baboons and Lammergeiers. Hike to Sankaber and return for an overnight stay in Debark.
Return to Gondar and catch a flight to Axum. Begin exploring this ancient capital, steeped in legends of the Queen of Sheba and the Ark of the Covenant.
Travel to Yeha to see a temple dating back over 2,500 years. Back in Axum, visit the towering stelae, royal tombs, Ezana inscriptions, Queen of Sheba’s palace, and the Church of St. Mary of Zion, believed to house the Ark of the Covenant.
Fly to Lalibela and explore the first cluster of its iconic 12th-century rock-hewn churches. Later, visit Yemrehanna Kristos, an exquisite church built inside a cave.
Ascend to a remote mountaintop monastery with panoramic views. Return to Lalibela to visit the remaining rock churches before a festive evening of traditional food and dance.
Trek 8 km to Baregota Village and experience rural Ethiopia through its people. Learn about local farming, education, and water systems. Spend the night in a guesthouse built by the community and visit their 1,000-year-old church and school before returning to Lalibela.
Fly back to Addis Ababa, arriving in time for a farewell lunch before departure.
